Noite e Día – night and day – has been spitting rhymes over kuduro beats since 2000, when she first teamed up with rapper and producer Mestre Ara. A strong member of his Guetto Produções ever since, she blew up with this song, Tiramakossa, which first came out in 2006 on the album Resposta (worldwide release late 2009 on Akwaaba). The song won a Toke award in Luanda, a sign that times are changing for kuduro, now more broadly accepted at home in Angola.
